Process for accelerating and synchronising seed germination - involves hydrating and dehydrating original seed stock to raise moisture content

Zusammenfassung: | Before drilling, an initial stock of seeds are brought into contact with water until the moisture content of the ensuing stock of hydrated seeds is higher than the original moisture content of the stock. The hydrated seeds are then removed from contact with water and dehydrated so that the moisture content is reduced to a value above the moisture content of the original stock of seeds. These two steps are repeated at least once in order to obtain a stock of dehydrated non-germinated seeds. ADVANTAGE - The germination of the seeds can now be accelerated and synchronised. |
