The cylindrical section has a fire-resistant protective layer that extends to a horizontal ring of segments attached to the tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - Is mainly for use in reactors producing gases contg. CO and H2 by partial oxidn. of powder-form fuels. It offers long service-life, with a minimum of slagging troubles in the cooling section, in partic. where an immersion tube is used, and avoids the need for additional heating.
