For example, road markings may be formed with materials (4,5,6) of different heat capacity and high emission factors, giving a permanent contrast in radiated heat. Alternatively, markings and signs use materials with high reflectivity and low emission to reflect ambient heat levels in contrast to surrounding surfaces.
