Zusammenfassung: | Method of welding together two metal sheet sections to form a closed box-like structure comprises using two sheets (34,36) stamped and pressed to have two types of flanges. One is a normal right angle flange (40,38) and the other an alternating lug and gap flange (44,46,50,52) which interlocks when the sections are assembled. The sections are clamped together and the assembly welded together. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. mfg. windscreen frames. Avoids the prodn. of a protruding flange and thereby reduces its overall dimension. |
