Zusammenfassung: | Improving the inner surface of a multi-layer plastic film used as a seamless wrapping for airtight packages of meat or similar foodstuffs. The process subjects the surface of the inner polyolefin layer of the multi-layer film to a corona discharge. Two pairs of electrodes are positioned on the outside surface of the tubular wrapping which contains a gas and is compressed flat with actual contact between the inner layers. One electrode of each pair touches the outer layers while the other electrode is held a small distance from them. The inner layers of the wrapping have an improved tensile strength in moist conditions. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is used to treat the inner polyolefin surfaces of a seamless multilayer multilayer tubular wrapping and improves the degree of contact between the inner layers and the packaged foodstuffs. |
