Zusammenfassung:	The gripper and feed mechanism consists of spring loaded gripper blocks (14), a lever operated mechanism (6) for moving the gripper through the feed length and an arrangement for closing the grippers (3), comprising a pair of collared rolls (7) in contact with the gripper blocks (14) and mounted tiltably on spindles (8), a copying template in bar form (9) movable parallel to the rolling axis and track rollers (11) which contact the bar (9). The mechanism for closing the grippers (2) incorporates a wedge-type adjuster (12) for setting the inclination angle of the roll (7) axes. The drive for moving bar (9) is provided with a backlash locking device (13). ADVANTAGE - Construction of mechanism ensures consistent billet gripping with predetermined force; avoids irregular billet feed; improves operational performance and service life.
