Zusammenfassung:Calcination of zeolitic granulates is carried out in an indirectly heated rotary calciner, which has feed and discharge equipment for solids and gases, a sealed central tube (6) extending over the entire length of the calciner and a spiral screw (5) connected closely with both the central tube and the outer rotary tube (9). USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is claimed esp. for calcination of zeolite A and zeolite X granulates. Very good contact between gas and solid can be obtd. in a narrow dwell spectrum and the granulate is freed from dust. The granulates are useful e.g. for drying and purifying gases and liquids and sepg. isomer mixts.. The process is esp. useful for continuous drying of Ca zeolite A granulate with SiO2 binder, using a small specific amt. of gas free from CO2, which is a highly selective granulate for enriching O2 by a pressure swing adsorption process. It is also suitable for drying zeolite Y, ZSMS, zeolite L, chabasite, chinoptilolite, erisnite, offretite, mazzite etc.. (6pp Dwg.No.1+2/2)
