Inside the storage container (1) is at least one controllable circulating delivery device (4) which moves material upwards, and which is connected to the outlet (6) in the upper region of the container. At its commencement point, the delivery device has a material loosening mechanism (5). The deliver device (4) comprises a tubular worm trough (13) in which a delivery worm screw (15), connected to a drive, functions. The trough has at least one inlet aperture (25), and at least one outlet aperture (16) acting against the effect of gravity. Between the inlet and outlet apertures is at least one take-off aperture (17) connected to the container outlet (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - The sanding device is used to increase friction between the wheels of a mining locomotive and the rails on which it runs.
