Zusammenfassung:A road underpass or subway is constructed by excavating a trench and then lining the walls (1) and floor (2) of the trench with reinforced waterproof concrete. The road of foothpath surface is made waterproof by laying an upper layer (3) of concrete over a waterproof sheet (5) of plastics or layer of bitumen which covers the underlyaer (2). The waterproof sheet or layer (5) has rows of small knobs projecting from its undersurface so that interconnected passageways are formed between the waterproof layer (5) and the concrete underlayer (2).
