Zusammenfassung:	A method of controlling a rock separation machine contg. a separating tool (22) rotatably mounted in a frame and a drive motor involves successive partial separation depth (z) and movement in positive and negative longitudinal directions (x, -x). The rock is measured before or during the separation process in dimension and shape in two or more coordinate directions in a reference plane adjacent and parallel to the cutting plane. The measurement data and tool position data are used to define a reversing point enabling elimination of load-free movements. USE/ADVANTAGE - The capacity of the separating machine is increased and separation times are reduced.
