Gymnastics landing mat with uniform synchronised characteristics - comprises lower thicker mat of soft polyurethane foam and thinner harder upper foam layer

A landing mat for gymnasts is described and consists of a number of lower mats (2) joined together and covered by a one-piece upper mat (3) to form a jointless surface giving synchronised characterics. The lower mat (2) is mfd. in a soft polyether foam and is much thicker than the upper mat (3), which is mfd. in a harder plastic foam typically 'Trocelen' (RTM), and has a covering layer (4) of needled felt. A polyester material layer (9) covers the upper surface of the lower mat (2) and the base and sides of the lower mat (2) are covered in PVC. USE/ADVANTAGE - The mat is used as a soft landing surface for gymnasts and exhibits uniform coordinated characteristics.
