Zusammenfassung:The polishing head (20) is suspended from a portal frame structure having servomotor driven slide movements in the X-, Y- and Z- coordinate directions. Additionally the head can be swung about the vertical axis of the hanger (18) and a horizontal pivot (19) on axis RX. The weight of the head is balanced and contact pressure on the work regulated by a pneumatic cylinder system acting about the RX axis. The polishing mop is driven by a hydraulic motor with steplessly variable speed control. The discs of the mop are axially clamped by a pneumatic cylinder that applies an oscillating movement to the mop. The work table (21) is arranged for automatic handling of the work.
