Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:The varnish used to cover the optical fibre (5) is intermittently fed into its container during mfg. without temp. control. A relatively small container (3), thermostatically controlled to a high accuracy, is between the varnish supply container (1) and the cable cladding stage (2). Pressures of the required intensity are pref. applied to the varnish supply container (1), the intermediate container (3) and the coating stage (2). The varnish pref. moves between the intermediate container (3) and the cladding stage (2) through a thermally insulated channel. The intermediate container (3) and the coating stage (2) are pref. double-walled units, preheated through a fluid under thermostatic control. The thermostat fluid is held constant at +4 to 0.1 deg.C. ADVANTAGE The technique gives an uninterrupted coating of the optic fibre, with a constant coating thickness. The suppression of the fibre is maintained to a low value.
