The invention relates to a method for transmitting audio and/or digital information via a satellite channel or a special line, in which the standard band of 40-15000 Hz is split into two subchannels I and II which in each case alternately or simultaneously transmit in the same manner one audio message (ANO or ASP) or two simultaneous digital messages (2N). The invention is also characterised by the fact that each audio or digital message can be addressed under program control to one of 64 possible subscribers via the subchannel. It is also provided that each subscriber-specific message is only evaluated when eight of ten commands received in sequence and within a well- defined time are identical.
