Boththe supply spool (10) and the wind-on spool are fitted into elongated holes (8) in the cassette case, held towards one end of the holes by flat springs (11) so that some movement is possible and so that the tape can be transferred from the feed spool through guides to the wind-on spool. The drive is applied by gears to the wind-on spool. The drive can be manual or by motor and the guides direct the tape round a framework, where it can be used by the machine. The feed spool is held between a bearing roller and a V-shaped spring and mounted in the V of the spring. USE/ADVANTAGE - Constant tension in tape.
