Burner for the stoichiometric burning of liquid or gaseous fuels

In a burner (1) for the stoichiometric burning of liquid or gaseous fuels having an atomiser nozzle (2), an air supply line (3) and a combustion chamber (12) which has an inlet opening (14) and is provided with a baffle plate (16) at the opposite end, a gasifying and guiding member (21), having a projected surface which is of annular shape and it being possible for combustion gases to flow around it centrally and also in the outer region, is inserted coaxially in the combustion chamber (12). By means of the gasifying and guiding member, the combustion chamber (12) is subdivided into at least two combustion and recirculation zones a, b, c. By means of this embodiment, optimal gasification and extremely good combustion of the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber (12) is made possible and the proportion of nitrogen oxides in the waste gases is thus considerably reduced.
