Zusammenfassung:	A seat support mechanism for a vehicle seat (FS, RS) which mechanism is characterised in that it is adapted to be secured to the vehicle (21, 16) and to be responsive to movement of the seat (FS, RS) so as to move the seat (FS, RS) relative to the vehicle (21, 16) upon an abrupt movement of the vehicle (21, 16) which produces inertial effects upon the seat (FS, RS), the mechanism comprising a means (38) adapted to move the rear of the seat (FS, RS) freely forwardly and to raise the rear of the seat (FS, RS) and means (39) to move the front of the seat (FS, RS) freely forwardly and upwardly, whereby the seat (FS, RS) is adapted to be moved upwardly and forwardly.
