Zusammenfassung:	A description is given of a process for producing a planar-compressible elastomer layer of a printing blanket for the location-independently uniform transfer of printing ink from a printing forme onto a material to be printed, with gas-filled voids in a distributed arrangement in the elastomer layer. A layer consisting of an elastomeric material is produced with foreign bodies incorporated locally into the layer, which by a suitable conversion create the gas-filled voids incorporated into the layer. The said process is characterised in that helix polymers are incorporated into the layer as foreign bodies, which are enzymatically broken down and create the voids.
