The invention relates to a cover panel for a passage opening in an end wall of a vehicle, which passage opening is situated above a folding-top support. In order to erect a folding top stored in an associated folding-top compartment, the cover panel can be transferred from its cover position into a release position in which a side-wall linkage of the folding top, which linkage is fixed on the folding-top support, can be pivoted into the clear cross-section of the passage opening, the cover panel lying in its cover position essentially in the vertical plane of, and in longitudinal alignment with, a side limb of a closed folding-top compartment lid. According to the invention, the cover panel is arranged movably on the free end region of the associated side limb of the folding-top compartment lid in such a manner that in its release position it is covered by the end region and in its cover position adjoins the side limb as an extension of the latter.
