Zusammenfassung: | A mechanical element such as a shaft (1) has a displacement device (2) for each spatial direction (X,Y) in which it is to be movable. This device comprises two oppositely prestressed blades (3) of pseudoelastic or shape memory alloy on opposite faces of a Peltier effect cell. The prestressed condition is maintained by a jointed and slotted keep (9) holding the two blades (3) parallel. Application of remotely-controlled electric current produces a temp. gradient reducing or increasing the proportion of martensite in the alloy, and so displacing the keep (9) and shaft (1) within a response time of about 1 second. |
