Zusammenfassung:	A fork lift truck has a collision safety device which triggers an emergency stop when an obstacle is touched or sensed. This safety device comprises, at least in the area of a load carrier (3), the space for a carried load (20) at a height within the height range of an average person. This safety device is so designed that it permits handling of the load (20) by means of the load carrier (3) at least forwards. For this purpose the safety device may be designed as a forwards closing or openable barrier or also as a hoop (14) which in the deployed position encloses at least the space in the area of the load carrier (3) and can be moved out of the deployed position for the purpose of handling a load (20). ……
