Zusammenfassung: | A device for the removal of solid particles, especially soot particles, from the exhaust gas of internal combustion engines has an electrostatic filter (10), through which the exhaust gas flows, with at least one filter tube (12) and a centrifugal separator (11), arranged on the outlet side, with a plurality of parallel-axis cyclones (21). For the manufacture of a series design type of compact construction which, without design modifications, is suitable for different power outputs of internal combustion engines, the cyclones (21), designed as tangential cyclones, are arranged around the electrostatic filter (10) in at least one group encompassing its circumference. The cyclone inlets (27) directly overlap radial openings (42) in the tube wall of the filter tube (12), whilst the cyclone outlets (28, 36) open into collecting chambers (30, 31, 37) arranged on the front faces of the cyclones (21). The device can be adapted to a different power output of the internal combustion engine by varying the diameter and length of the filter tube (12) and of the cyclones (21) and by omitting or adding individual cyclones (21) or a whole group of cyclones (21) (Fig. 1). |
