Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a front seat for a motor vehicle, in particular a two-door passenger car, in which to facilitate entry to seats situated in the rear of the car the backrest can be folded over forwards. This can only take place in a seat position in which bumping against the roof contour is avoided by the backrest (9) of the seat (1) being locked against swivelling until the rear position of the seat has been reached. Only then is the catch released.
