Zusammenfassung:	An axial or radial piston machine having a plurality of pistons (9) arranged opposite one another diametrically or in the shape of a star, with a control valve arrangement (15) comprising a closed valve ring (31), which interacts with a ring surface (49) containing the valve openings, as a valve seat, is to be designed such that the machine is also suitable for high pressure. This is achieved by a radial movement play (s1) being provided between the ring surface (49) and the circumferential surface of the valve ring (31) interacting therewith, and by the valve ring (31) being flexible, but not expandable.
