Zusammenfassung:	Device for the removal of soot from the exhaust gas flow of an internal combustion engine, especially a diesel engine, with a cylindrical filter chamber, an untreated gas inlet, a purified gas discharge pipe with a plurality of circumferential surface holes arranged coaxially in the filter chamber and a depth filter cartridge. The depth filter cartridge is placed on the purified gas discharge pipe in the region of the circumferential surface holes. The depth filter cartridge is enclosed by at least one soot combustion electrode, which is designed or arranged so that it is gas-permeable. The soot combustion electrode is connected to a combustion voltage source. The purified gas discharge pipe is wired as counterelectrode.
