Zusammenfassung:	The invention describes a cooling device for vehicles. The device comprises a main circuit 3, 4 connecting an engine 1 to a radiator 2, comprising a pump 5 and thermostatic valve 6 as well as a bypass circuit 11, 12 comprising an expansion tank 10 connected to the radiator via a vent pipe 11, and to the engine via a return pipe 12. In order to reduce the heating time of the engine, the expansion tank is divided into at least two compartments 16, 17, only the smaller of the compartments 16 being connected to the flow of liquid circulating in the bypass circuit whilst the main circuit 3, 4 is cut off by the thermostatic valve 6.
