Method and installation for fitting and removing track lengths

Movable installation (1) for fitting and also removing track lengths (17), comprising a loading carriage (2) which has a loading area (21) and is capable of travelling via running-gear assemblies (5) on a track (10) and which is intended for transportation of a track length (17) put together at an assembly station (14), and track-length lifting devices (32) which are capable of travelling on the ready-assembled track length (17) situated on the loading area (21) and have height- and laterally-adjustable lifting posts (37). The flat-top loading carriage (2), which has, on one of its two rail running-gear assemblies (5), a non-railbound running-gear assembly (6) which is adjacent to the latter and has its own travelling drive (7), is constructed as an assembly station for putting together the track length, comprising equipment (26, 33, 19) for the sleeper and rail transportation, for the rail fastening and for a transverse displacement of the ready-assembled track length (17) in relation to the flat-top loading carriage (2).
