On horizontal links (3) of the running net between tyre tread and carriageway the antiskid tyre chain is provided with elastic inserts (2), which are made of rubber or plastic and between lateral recesses (4, 5) for the longitudinal legs (6, 7) of the horizontal links (3) have circular, pocket-like cutouts (8, 9), which lie mirror-symmetrically opposite one another, are arranged perpendicularly to the horizontal links (3) and are intended for positively receiving the bows (11) of the two vertical links (10), which adjoin the horizontal links (3) in question. In this arrangement, the tread parts (12) of the inserts (2) protrude in the longitudinal direction of the horizontal links (3) of the chain (1) over the bows (11) of the adjoining vertical links (10) to the extent that in between they receive the bows (11) of the vertical links (10) in a manner such that the bows enjoy protection on all sides over their entire circular extent of approximately 180 DEG . Such inserts (2) lead to antiskid chains of this type running quietly on dry carriageways and result in a better driving and braking behaviour with, at the same time, a lower wear of the chain.
