Device for stocked-up yarn supply of knitting machines

There is described a device (10) for the stocked-up yarn supply of flat-bed knitting machines (11) by providing a plurality of yarn bobbins (21) where yarn end and beginning of adjacent yarn bobbins have been knotted together. Such a device (10) is to ensure, by means of a certain stock of yarn bobbins (21), a change of the yarn bobbin at the appropriate times by mechanical means in such a way that the yarn bobbin (21) which is in operation has an optimum position in relation to the relevant guide point of the yarn guide rail device (18) and that the device (10) thereby obviates switching off the flat-bed knitting machine (11) for a yarn bobbin change. For this purpose, the device (10) possesses bobbin storage and changer means (22) which contain bobbin holder means (23) which are movable by a driving means (39) into an operating position and between which there is disposed a trigger means (72) which is pervaded by the knotted-together yarn region and with which the drive means (39) is controlled.
