Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a process for treating zinc- and lead-containing metallurgical slags by blowing with fuel in a blowing furnace. Hitherto it has been possible to apply this process economically only to slags having high zinc contents greater than about 12%. Slags with medium zinc contents (about 6% of Zn) and low zinc contents (less than about 2% of Zn) were dumped on tips. For reasons of preserving a clean environment, however, at least slags of medium zinc and lead contents should in future no longer be put into landfills without further treatment. The invention provides those skilled in the art with an approach allowing economical treatment even of slags having low zinc contents (greater than about 4%). In slag-blowing with fuel, this is achieved by at least partially replacing the fuel by other industrial residues and waste materials containing zinc and lead as well as carbon.
