In a housing or the like, consisting of two structural parts, especially a housing body (1) and a housing cover (2), and of at least one inner hinge joint (3) connecting the structural parts in an articulated manner, in which housing or the like bearing faces (4 and 5) assigned to one another are preferably formed on the housing body (1) and housing cover (2) and a closing plane is defined by the bearing faces (4 and 5), in which housing or the like the hinge joint (3) has a housing hinge part (6) attached fixedly to the housing body (1) and a cover hinge part (7) attached fixedly to the housing cover (2), and in which housing or the like the hinge parts (6, 7) are connected pivotably to one another, the two structural parts connected to the hinge joint (3) can execute a wider variety of movements relative to one another if a hinge middle part (8) is arranged between the housing hinge part (6) and the cover hinge part (7) and is connected at the ends to the housing hinge part (6) on the one hand and to the cover hinge part (7) on the other hand so as to be pivotable and/or linearly displaceable, preferably linearly displaceable perpendicularly to the closing plane.
