Arrangement for controlling a combustion engine by means of a digital computing device (25), consisting of a first controller (12) influencing the fuel quantity with a second controller (14), which also influences the fuel quantity and which is supplied as actual value with a quantity which corresponds to the fuel quantity supplied to the combustion engine, and subsequently an output stage (16) and a fuel metering device (17) loaded by the latter, in which arrangement, in the case of a fault of the computing device, a load signal is switched to the output stage (16) via a combining point (24) and a differentiating analog coupling circuit, which acts as feedback to the controlled system, continuously carries the quantity corresponding to the supplied fuel quantity to the combining point (24).
