Zusammenfassung: | 1. Process for firing iron ore pellets having at least one part of haematite on a travelling grate under oxidising conditions by means of hot gases passed through, the pellets incorporating containing solid, carbon-containing material, which supplies part of the quantity of heat required for firing, whereby the Cfix content of the solid, carbon-containing material incorporated in the pellets is 1.3 to 1.8 % weight, relative to the dry feed mixture in haematitic ores or relative to the haematitic part in mixtures of ores, the green pellets are charged on to the travelling grate at a temperature of 30 to 50 degrees C or are prewarmed to said temperature on said travelling grate by pressure drying, the warm pellets are passed through a suction drying zone and then are fired in the suction draught with a pressure of 20 to 40 mbar below atmospheric using hot gases of 1250 to 1350 degrees C. |
