Connector for a vacuum cleaner floor nozzle or the like

In a connector, e.g. for a vacuum cleaner floor nozzle or the like, for the suction tube of a vacuum cleaner, the connector having a suction tube receiver with a releasable clamping device for connection to the suction tube, seen in the insertion direction of the suction tube the suction tube receiver consists of a receiving part which produces the clamping action and of an adjoining rigid receiving part with a tapering internal diameter. The rigid receiving part is provided with a thread for a check nut which has an internal cone. The internal cone is operatively connected to the receiving part of the suction tube receiver which produces the clamping action, the adjustment range of the connector being infinitely variably adjustable. Due to such a variable screw-on connection, it is possible, for example, to connect vacuum cleaner floor nozzles of one make to vacuum cleaners of another make even if the suction tube diameters differ, it being possible for the connection to be produced or released easily and quickly.
