Beschreibung
Zusammenfassung:A process is proposed which serves to produce dirt-repellent, hydrophilic glass surfaces on glass sheets produced by the float method, in particular on laminated glass sheets. This process is used, in particular, for windscreens of motor vehicles. The process comprises treating sheets having at least one bath side as surface in a liquid alkaline medium having a pH of >/= 8 in a first treatment step and subsequently, after rinsing with water, in a liquid acidic medium having a pH of >/= 6 in a second treatment step. The alkaline medium used is preferably a phosphate glass cleaner having a pH of from 10 to 11, and the acidic medium used is a phosphoric acid-containing solution having a pH of approximately 2. The first treatment step is preferably carried out in an immersion bath with constant movement of the sheet, while the second, very much shorter second treatment step is carried out either likewise in an immersion bath or by spraying.
