Zusammenfassung: | A method and configuration for determining the properties of rocks are proposed in which a sample of the rock is insonified with ultrasonic waves in three directions - which are preferably perpendicular to one another - and by measuring the time and the path, the speed of sound in the rock is measured. The values thus determined are compared for the three directions with values of known rocks. For each direction, a plurality of measurements can be carried out, randomly distributed over the rock face. More extensive, wider-ranging, more accurate and more fundamental information can be obtained on rocks than by using conventional methods. The method according to the invention provides a very broad, general information spectrum, requires little time and causes little cost. |
