Air pollution measurement method

A method is described for measuring instantaneous location-specific air pollution. The method is notable for a conventional particle counter being adapted to mobile use outside enclosed spaces, air being moved through this equipment thus provided. The equipment directly supplies measured values displayed in analogue or digital form concerning the degree of pollution. It is therefore also possible to determine time-limited changes of the degree of pollution, and it is possible to determine the spatial extent of a pollutant. The equipment can be employed on the ground in a mobile manner, for example by fitting it on a car, but it can also be used in the air by fitting it in an aeroplane or in a balloon, for example a captive balloon. In the latter cases the degree of air pollution at various heights above ground can also be measured.
