Process for the production of chenille yarn

In the production of chenille yarn by tying off pieces of fancy thread by means of continuous twisting of at least two binding threads in a fancy twisted yarn machine, it is provided that the binding threads, together with at least one additional thread made of a fusible material whose fusion temperature is lower than the upper threshold value of the temperature resistance of the binding threads, are fed to a winding head of the fancy twisted yarn machine and that the chenille yarn containing the drilled-in additional thread is then introduced into a heating device which melts the additional thread. At least one metal thread is furthermore fed to the winding head of the fancy twisted yarn machine and is twisted together with the binding threads and the additional thread.
