Altimeter for motor vehicles

The invention relates to an altimeter for motor vehicles, having an air-pressure meter which supplies an electrical measurement, this measurement being linked in an evaluation circuit to a reference variable which is stored in a memory, and a drive signal which corresponds to the present altitude being derived therefrom for a display apparatus. In this case, either an altitude which is known in advance can be entered via a keyboard or else the last current altitude displayed by the display apparatus can be entered into the memory, as the reference variable, so that a greater measurement accuracy is achieved as a result of the repeated correction.
