Electrical capacitor having wound or, in particular, layered dielectric layers, and a method for its production

The electrical capacitor contains a capacitor winding or a layer stack (21) consisting of dielectric layers (1, 2) with coatings (3, 4) which extend alternately to side surfaces (5, 6) and are connected to one another electrically there by means of metal deposits (7, 8) whose intermediate spaces (14) between the metal particles (15) are filled with cured plastic; in the case of wound capacitors, this filling is carried out by impregnation with low-viscosity plastic, particularly before the mounting of the current-supply wires; the capacitors having a layer stack (21) are produced by wheel windings, and the filling of the metal deposits (7, 8) with low-viscosity plastic is carried out on the original capacitors while they are still located on the wheel.
