Mining support system with prop protection

The invention relates to a mining support system with prop protection, in which the forces which originate from the friction between roof bar (1) and roof are eliminated, the result of which is that the roof bar (1) adheres to the roof without displacement on it during the straddling of the section or during the pressure of the rock on the section, the use of large auxiliary motors which transmit very large forces not being required in the construction. This was achieved by connecting the roof bar (1) to the protective member (3) by means of at least one connector (2), one end of at least one strut (7) of variable length being fastened in an articulated manner to the structure of the support system in the area of the connection between the connector (2) and the protective member (3), and the other end of this strut being fastened to the roof bar (1). It is advantageous if the strut (7) is formed by two hydraulic auxiliary motors (8, 9) which are connected in series with one another and face one another with the piston surfaces.
