Zusammenfassung:	A filter for removing water and solids from diesel fuel comprises filter elements 83, 84 and first and second settling zones respectively upstream and downstream of the elements, and a drainage plug which when unscrewed, in response to a signal from water level-monitoring means 97, drains water from both said zones simultaneously. In Fig. 1 the plug and filter elements are more complex, and the housing lid incorporates a manual primer pump. In Fig. 8 additional units are located between housing parts 81 and 91 of Fig. 4, namely a flat electric heater, a heat-exchanger using hot water from the vehicle radiator and a baffle chamber to assist water-coalescence.
