Preparation of sulphonated N-arylmaleimides

Aryl-sulphonated N-arylmaleimides can be prepared with improved yield and improved purity by reacting N-arylmaleimides with a sulphonating agent at -40 DEG C to +60 DEG C under anhydrous conditions.
