Zusammenfassung: | The invention relates to an emergency running device for wheels, in particular motor vehicle wheels, with pneumatic tyres. It comprises a belt which has a tread profile on its outside and can be fixed on the tread of the tyre with parts of connecting elements arranged at its ends. A channel which extends over essentially the entire length of the belt in the centre, is enclosed at its ends and can be connected to a compressed air source by means of a valve and whose channel wall which rests against the cover of the tyre is constructed so as to be stretchable is provided on the inside of the belt. If the channel is pumped up after the belt is placed on the tread of the tyre, the cover of the tyre is pressed into the base of the rim by the bead which is formed during this process and is held in contact with the circumferential surface of said base. Thus, during driving, a volume of gas which is capable of bearing the vehicle and of elastically absorbing relatively small impacts remains present in the air channel despite the loss of air in the tyre. |
