Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to a parallel tuned-circuit converter, having a monitoring device for the converter current, the thyristor voltage and the commutation of the invertor. In order to differentiate between a fault cause in the converter or in the load, a discriminator is connected directly to the load, by means of which discriminator faults can be detected which are linked to the formation of an arc in the load. Only when such faults occur together with faults in the invertor, which are confirmed by the monitoring device, is the converter switched off. The signals are linked via a logic circuit to the display for the cause of the fault.
