Zusammenfassung: | A melt spinning and drawing process for producing polypropylene filaments is proposed by means of which, using polypropylene of conventional spinning quality grades, textile filaments and fibres are obtained of unusually high breaking strength of more than 5 cN/dtex. It is decisive in this case for the process conditions that crystallisation of the spun polymers as a result of abrupt quenching in the cooling zone beneath the spinneret is prevented as far as is possible. Crystallisation is induced and promoted after drawing. For this purpose, it is necessary that following the longitudinal orientation of the molecules, a sufficiently long residence time for the aftercrystallisation is available, in which the filaments are held at a temperature at which there is a high crystallisation rate. |
