Zusammenfassung:The optical fibre cable has a tubular outer sheath (MA) and at least one strength member (ZE1, ZE2) firmly joined to this sheath. The strength member (ZE1, ZE2) is dimensioned such that it exerts a compressive force on the sheath (MA), resulting in the achievement of an excess length of the optical fibre (LW1, LW2) with respect to the sheath (MA). It is advantageous for the strength member to be heated before extruding of the sheath, the shrinkage producing the compressive force.
