Zusammenfassung:Liquid-crystalline material which contains at least two 4-n-alkyl-trans-cyclohexanecarboxylic acids of the formula in which n is 4 to 6, in the following amounts: 31 to 65% by weight of 4-n-butyl-trans-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid, 14 to 33% by weight of 4-n-amyl-trans-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid and/or 30 to 60% by weight of 4-n-hexyl-trans-cyclohexanecarboxylic acid. The liquid-crystalline material according to the invention may contain 2 to 25% by weight of 4-n-alkyl-trans-cyclohexanecarbonitrile of the formula in which n is 2 to 8. The material mentioned can be used as a working element in electro-optical devices.
