Zusammenfassung:	Hot exhaust gases flow through the interior (4) of the heat exchanger for a liquid fuel heating device. The heat exchanger consists in accordance with the invention of two castings (1, 2) which form the flow chamber. Located in the interior (4) is a guide insert (6), which is made from a refractory material, has a low coefficient of thermal conductivity and subdivides the interior (4) into a plurality of partly opposing flow ducts (10). The invention can be applied to heat exchangers made from light metal alloys which are components of independent heater units of motor vehicles.
