Opto-electronic transmitting unit

The invention relates to an opto-electronic transmitting unit with a laser diode (6) disposed in a housing (1) on a carrier (8, 9, 10, 13), and to an optical waveguide (4) fed through a housing wall (2) and aligned with the optically active surface of the laser diode. To prevent misalignment of the laser diode and the optical waveguide due to thermal expansion of the housing and the laser diode carrier, the housing wall and the carrier are made from materials with temperature coefficients such that the lateral displacement of the optical waveguide due to the thermal expansion of the housing wall corresponds in terms of its extent and direction to the displacement of the laser diode due to the thermal expansion of the laser diode carrier (Fig. 1).
